When Neo passed away, it was really sad. My Chachu felt it the most as he lived alone with Neo. So shortly after he passed away he wanted another dog.
It was never the right time and never the right dog. My Chachu wanted another dog that looked like Neo. We found the perfect one but he was not healthy enough for them to give to us. We probably spoke to 15 breeders but we weren't able to find a puppy that we connected with.
After we got Cuba, Chachu had to wait a little bit before getting his own dog. But when a breeder sent him a picture of a dog who had the same glint in his eye like Neo. He know he was the one.
We decided to name the dog Neo in remembrance of our previous dog. We are going to call him New Neo for now. New Neo was in Pune at the time so he had to be driven to Mumbai.
When he arrived, he was really excited! But also scared. It was a new place and just like Cuba, he was missing home.
Chachu brought Neo home to meet my brother and I. When I first met him, it was magical. He was younger than Cuba, but the same size as him. So Cuba was really scared. Neo ran behind Cuba and Cuba jumped on me and climbed up my shoulder. Neo was now happy and all he wanted to do was play with Cuba. This wasn't fun for us as Cuba was terrified!
Neo kept growing while Cuba didn't grow much bigger so sometimes Neo forgot his size and strength and would sometimes play really rough with him. Neo once scratched me too. This was because I had brought cuba to meet him and he was really excited so he jumped on me as I picked cuba up.
After this we were all really nervous and I wasn't able to come close to Neo. I had to have 5 stitches on my lip. But slowly it got better.
When we went on vacation, Cuba needed someone to be with. So he went to Neos house every single day. Slowly they got very close and Neo didn't have to be on a leash anymore.
Now they are best friends and Neo is perfectly calm and happy and is the perfect addition to Chachu's life. Neo and Cuba are best buds and brothers forever and I am so happy for them.
