I have always wanted a dog of my very own. Neo was my chacha's dog but kind of like mine. And my two stray dogs Donna and Pancake don't live with us. Pancake ran away and Donna lives in Goa.
Neo was my husky. He was very lively and fun to be with. Recently he passed away. He got cancer and a mango seed stuck in his throat. We had to do surgery to remove it and we did. He was fine for a couple of days but then he stopped breathing. And 5 minutes later he was gone. It was very sad but now he is peaceful.
I had been asking my parents for a dog of my very own since I was born. They always said 'Go play with Neo' or 'You already have a dog'. But when Neo passed away they had to say yes. So they did. My best friend 'Farah' (she wrote an article about her dog Biscuit) told me that the breeder she got her dog from had another litter. It was perfect! My parents wanted a small dog and Havaneeses are small dogs and also hypoallergenic. They talked to the breeder and we found out that there were four male puppies. We were last on the list so if something happened to one puppy we would have to wait for the next litter. Luckily everything was fine. In a month or so after that, we went to Pune to meet our future puppy. As soon as we saw him we fell in love with him! He was the cutest dog to ever live!!
On Saturday the 27th of August, 2022, my dream came true. We got him via pet taxi which is exactly like it sounds, a taxi for pets. He arrived at 10:15 am exactly. We decided to name our puppy 'Cuba' since he was the national dog of Cuba and Havaneeses are from Havana and Havana is in Cuba.
As soon as he reached, my mother, my brother and I ran down to bring him up. My dad had covid. He was sooooo cute!!!!!!!!!! We brought him up and introduced him to everybody. Then we got him some water and a few toys, put out some pee pads and played with him. Now I sleep with him every night. He sleeps in his pen and I sleep right outside. It is important to have someone sleep next to the dog as they often feel very scared. He is getting to know us better now and loves tailing behind us and snuggling with us.
